
Accra Hearts of Oak’s dream of winning the double became a reality through their goalkeeper, Richard Attah’s heroic performance by saving and scoring a penalty.
Both Accra Hearts of Oak and Ashantigold gave their fans a mouth watering performance at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, August 8th 2021 in the 2020-2021 MTN FA Cup finals.
Both Ashantigold and Accra Hearts Oak held knife to their throats preventing each other from scoring in 90 minutes which made the game travelled to extra time and a penalty shoot-out.
Both teams proved they were best at taking penalties till the last penalty which was to be decided by goalkeepers of both teams.
Richard Attah took the first penalty by firing in a bullet of a shot which prevented Kofi Mensah from saving it.
Kofi Mensah in his retaliation misfired his bullet in the air making Accra Hearts of Oak 11- time champions of the MTN FA Cup, making their dream of winning the double a reality and making Coach Samuel Boadu the first coach after Jones Atokorfio to win the double for Accra Hearts of Oak.
